The “city-museum” of the Louvre Abu Dhabi bears under its 180 m in diameter dome, fifty-five buildings including: 6400 m² of permanent exhibition galleries, 2000 m² of temporary exhibition spaces, 200 m² of children’s museum, an auditorium of 250 seats, storage rooms, an artwork conservation building, restoration workshops, public spaces, an administration building, a restaurant, a café and a museum boutique.

It is unusual to find a built archipelago in the sea. It is not often that it is protected by an umbrella which creates a rain of light. It’s a calm and complex place. A contrast among a series of museums which cultivate their differences and their authenticity.” – Jean Nouvel
